As I previously mentioned I am on the hunt for a new apartment, one I am actually willing to sign a lease on (can you tell I have commitment issues?). Let me just tell you, the apartment search in New York is pretty much the worst thing ever. First of all, and we all know this, but the sheer cost of the apartments is seriously daunting. As much as I enjoy my entire paycheck going towards the box I call my house, I was looking to save a little in the process. How naive I was.
Katherine and I had found an apartment we were ready to make moves on. We got all of our paperwork in, our parents were on board, and we had the deposit in hand, when someone got their money just before us, so they got the apartment. Needless to say we were upset, but our broker Diego (who really as at fault for us loosing the apartment) is a gentleman to work with and we are really hoping he pulls though, otherwise, we've (more myself than anyone) got issues.
This weekend a good friend from Elon was in town, Louisa. She and her sister stayed with me and we had a great time. They were very independent on this trip, and did a lot of tourist stuff that my New York living self just can't stomach (ahem TIMES SQUARE). Anyways so we went out last night with some of Louisa's high school friends and Sarah, we had a nice time down in the East Village. This morning a group of us went to brunch and then I cam back to the apartment for some much needed cleaning.
Overall, it is currently looking as though come April 1st I will be homeless, fingers crossed this doesn't happen people. Otherwise, just plugging along as usual.
