“Public relations are a a key component of any operation in this day of instant communications and rightly inquisitive citizens.” – Alvin Adams
Welcome!
Welcome to Nicole Monge’s professional portfolio! Nicole was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina and will be graduating from Elon University with a Bachelor of the Arts, in strategic communications, in the spring of 2013. Being raised in a family full of boys, Nicole has always had a passion for sports and competition and enjoys interacting with other people. She is very passionate and excited about the communications field and all it has to offer young professionals.
In the Fall of 2010, Nicole took her first public relations class, which sparked her interest in the field. She along with four of her peers created a public relations and marketing plan for a local community, the Cottage at Blakey Hall. The plan included social media, a new website, and brochures to hand out to families and volunteers.
Nicole interned at MMI Public Relations during the fall of 2011. She ran their social media websites (Facebook, Twitter, and blog), for various clients, wrote press releases and promotional materials, and wrote articles for their website. She learned so much about the public relations industry through this internship and a lot about the behind-the-scenes work of agency life.
Now that she is about to graduate from Elon, Nicole is working as a team leader for Live Oak Communications, as well as an intern in the Office of Sustainability. These positions have allowed her to expand both her design and writing skill base, along with her experience with Social Media. In this blog, you will see Nicole’s work from internships to first jobs in order to show potential employers the reasons why she would be an asset to their companies.
She has experience working with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Final Cut Pro, and has advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office. Feel free to email with any questions or comments you may have!
