This weekend was full of fun and different adventures. Friday night I went to have drinks with some of my old colleagues from M Booth which was nice. I still hang out with most of them regularly (one of them being my roommate) but it was nice to visit with the ones I don't get to see as often. Saturday night was my friend from high school, Dean's, birthday party. He lives a little far from me so we do not get to hang out as often as we'd like but its always nice to see him. In other news, I also got two new kitties! That's right, the solve to our mouse problem is these cats im holding. Just kidding, they're Dean's cats but I love them dearly, they are very sweet and fun so I have offered to watch them whenever Dean needs me to. |
Sunday my friend Ariel and I decided to go on a hike. Let me just tell you that our usual Sunday plans are brunching and watching Netflix so this was a huge step up. We had both been feeling like we let fall fly by us and winter is quickly approaching so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather we still have.
The hiking trail we choose was deemed challenging, but I think the caveat should've been a bit more descriptive, I was wheezing at some points. We hiked for about 4 hours up the steepest rocks i've ever climbed (those childhood days of climbing on everything really came in handy) and had to use trees, branches and each other to make it to the top. The journey up was tough but Ariel is probably the most motivational push yourself kind of person I know, so that was helpful.
The view at the top was so pretty though. I have never really gotten out and seen New York outside of the city and this was the perfect way to do it. Pictures are below, but the view was just so worth the wheezing walk up. Thankfully our walk down was much less strenuous as the resort on the mountain we hiked through anticipated amateurs like us being tired at the top and they made an easier trail to get down.
Tuesday I head home for an elongated Thanksgiving, where I will be working from home for about a week.
