My mom informed me today that I have not been blogging enough, which I suppose is true. I feel like there has not been too much to share, but alas I at least find it interesting.
This past week NY Creative Interns had their biggest event that I have ever had such a big hand in planning. Some 300 people were in attendance to meet the 20 employers that were present at this informal spin on a career fair. It was such a success that the event was extended an extra half an hour.
I also went to my very first Yankees game recently. Normally, I am not a big baseball game watching girl, but this was the Yankees, so I geared up to watch the old america past time. We met with some.....interesting Elon alum. These were that rare group of alumni that were not even just unhelpful, but were unfriendly and kind of mean, needless to say I did not appreciate it. Regardless the game was fun, Keeley and I cheered on the Yankees and had a blast.
A few of my Elon best friends were also in the city. Katie and Sarah came for visits and just to hang out. It was great having them there, Sarah came to the networking event, very refreshing to see a friend in the crowd, and I always have a good time when Sarah and Katie are in the mix.
This week I am in DC interviewing for a few other things, and have been into the city for a few various things. I have also gotten to see some friends while being here. I was reunited with my best friend from home Lauren, and have also seen Katie since she is here for the summer.
Yesterday I went to the Holocaust Museum, which was an educational and thought provoking experience. The Holocaust has always been one of my favorite periods in history, mostly because I am fascinated with how so many people could be convinced that that was a good idea, and how no one stepped in for so long to help these people who were punished for simply existing. I understand it was a harder situation than I realize, it is just interesting to look at from the perspective of someone now.

In other exciting news, Keeley and I are moving to a new apartment, at least for the month of August. It is as 69th and 1st on the Upper East Side. It is small, and the bathroom is a little gross, but overall I think it will feel homier than the New School dorms, which could not be more stark. Homier at least for the month of August, since that is all we are renting it for. Ah the life of nomad (meaning unemployed, unsure me) If you would like a comical mental image, I am sleeping on an air mattress that deflates throughout the night. I think that covers everything going on in my life right now, miss you all very much!
