Then on Saturday we had (boozy) brunch with a bunch of Elon alum at Bocca Di Bacco, which had great mimosas. It was nice to meet some new people as well as see some familiar faces. After that brunch Keeley and I decided to take a nap, but not before we got our free pride tank tops from American Apparel, which we of course stumbled upon on our way back to our beds. They were very trendy tank tops and I loved wearing mine around to the pride events.
SUNDAY is the day Keeley and I were so excited for: the Gay Pride Parade. This was a culmination of all things fabulous in Manhattan, men wearing amazingly colorful outfits and women with everything they had on display. All photos are below but it was so interesting to see so many different people from very different cultural backgrounds come together to support something that has been the topic of much debate. I personally loved every minute of it and all of its fabulous and supportive glory. After the parade Keeley and I walked to the festival they hold all day. There are tons of food vendors, and even more businesses and organizations that are ready and willing to hand out their free swag (at least that's how we saw it). So we walked the streets of the fair with free giveaways being thrown at us. I got everything from a pen to a cupcake to a beach ball. The best thing we got though was free Tribe hummus and pita chips (sad I know) but it was really good and it has actually been a very long time since I have had hummus and I missed it.
Once it started to rain Keeley and I hauled ourselves home to go on a run. The Chelsea Pier was as lovely as ever, tonight I shamelessly stood by the dog park for a while until some very nice lady coming out of the area and asked if I wanted to pet her dog. It was sad since I am sure I looked very pitiful but I was also really happy she let me because I miss Farley and Ava.
Anyways Tuesday my brother Chris comes for a visit, and it will be nice to see him, I just wish the whole family was coming. Enjoy the pictures below!
