This 4th of July was spent at the Jersey Shore, Wildwood to be specific, with Lisa and Lexi. To start, getting to Wildwood from NYC is no easy task. There is a bus that goes directly there but speaking from the person who just rode it, it's terrible. On the way back I took an alternative route that took me through Philadelphia- sounds crazy I know but it cut the time by a lot and was much more pleasant (it was a train this time).
Anyways once I got to the beach Lisa picked me up from the bus stop, we had a quick lunch and then headed to the beach! The weather was PERFECT on the first day and it took dragging to pull me off of that beach. That evening we went on the Wildwood boardwalk. For those who have never been the boardwalk has rides on rides on rides and is basically a giant carnival. I rode a ride called the IT and I felt like I was going to die a little.
The next day, unfortunately, wasn't so nice. It rained almost all day so we let ourselves sleep in and headed to a local diner for a midmorning breakfast. At a loss for what to do in the rain, at the beach, we decided to take a drive through Cape May. The town was very quant and charming and Lisa indulged my request of going to see the lighthouse. It was pretty cool though the weather was again, wompy, but I had never seen a lighthouse that close before (at least not from what I can remember).
The next day however was lovely and the weather was absolutely perfect. We laid on the beach literally all day and I was so reluctant to leave. Don't worry Mom I put on lots of sunscreen-I am a nice tan and not burned at all. After laying on the beach all day I resumed laying in the sun, this time by the pool. We then headed out for dinner on the boardwalk and a few rides (that made me feel ill) before calling it a night.
Today was the last day, we went to the beach for a few hours before heading out to take me to the train station and for Lexi and Lisa to drive home. It is always really sad for me to leave family as I miss everyone a lot since I am so far away, but then I remembered that I only have 18 days until I head home to Charlotte for the family beach trip to Hilton Head! I cannot wait to see my family but most importantly, Farley!!
Also for some reason, Weebly isn't letting me rotate the images below, sorry about that. I am usually MUCH more tech saavy :)
