Spring is officially here in NYC and I couldn't be happier. While I have been assured that this winter was the most brutal-ever- there is no way I could've lasted any longer in those blizzards. My snow coat is retired for the season and I couldn't be happier.
Recently I have been working a lot, I started volunteering at the local animal shelter (which maybe wasn't the best idea) and have been hanging out with friends.
Today Sarah and I went to brunch at a really delicious and very reasonable restaurant called Banc Cafe. I was a little skeptical but it was shockingly good. An added bonus, it is two blocks from my apartment so you really just can't beat that. Then we went shopping a bit and just had a very girly casual New York Saturday.
Recently one of our good friends from Elon, Saige, came into to town spontaneously and we went out with her and some of Sarah's high-school friends. It was really fun because we went out in FiDi (Financial District) which we never really do because it is just kind of far away. I love the area but it was a bit eerie at night, as it is so family oriented there were not many people on the street. I would love to explore that area more when I have an afternoon to just wander and get lost.
We did recently get our couch in our apartment. As you can tell from the pictures below-it is too big. We have to weave around it to get to the kitchen /bathroom (depending on what direction you come from). I am not a huge fan of the couch but I also didn't buy the couch so my opinion means very little in that case. It is nice to have somewhere to sit that isn't my bedroom though and it is really comfortable. It is technically a pull out couch but we don't have enough room to pull the couch out in this tiny apartment, guests will just have to snuggle up with me!
My life is fairly uneventful lately-sorry I don't have a more interesting update! I will be going to DC for memorial day weekend because Lord knows I need a break from this ci
