As promised, I am going to at least keep writing the blog, obviously not very often though. Since the last time I blogged I had been home once more for Labor Day weekend, where I finished my summer days out at the pool with a good book I couldn't put down.
I have really gotten into my new job, I really love the work I am doing and the people I get to work with everyday. I decided to implement a candy bowl at work, so people stop by my desk and chat for a few minutes. Today was the first day of the candy bowl and it seemed to be a crowd pleaser.
Last weekend I had a good friend from Elon in town, KBows, and we really took the city by storm. On Friday night we went out to dinner and then went out to a club, it was really fun but I sometimes feel just a little too old for that at this point. Then on Saturday we went to brunch and kayaked in the Hudson. That activity was on my bucket list so I was really excited to do that. We then walked around Tribeca for a while, which is probably the nicest area in NYC and then ate dinner at Max Brenners (see below). Max Brenners is probably some of the best chocolate fondue you'll ever have.
We ordered actual meals and they were just ok, I wouldn't recommend it for dinner, but a great dessert spot. Other than those minor life updates, I am just plugging along. I did re-join the gym which will hopefully go to good use. I really need to start working out again, it helps me sleep better which is pretty hard to come by in this city.
Additionally we have a new house guest and his (there have been 6) name is whiskers. Thats right, they're mice. We have set traps, had the super fix and patch holes and the whole gambit, and we still have been seeing them. What's strange is they don't get into our food at all, however they do go in between my room and the kitchen which is pretty disarming. My building owner is going to get a nice email in his inbox tomorrow.
Those are all of my updates, pretty uneventful-until next time!
