This weekend was glorious simply because the weather was so warm I almost ran outside in shorts (almost). Ok, it was still a bit chilly for that but I took off my jacket at one point and had short sleeves on and never felt happier. It has been like this all up and down the East Coast, but the winter was brutal and really I just cannot take much more of it.
The photo to the left is in Bryant Park as they are taking down the ice rink (which I love, but its time to go) and the ice is finally melting off the fountain so I'm thinking spring is on the horizon! (PLEASE STAY WARM)
My friend at work whom I all me "work bestie" are currently looking at new apartments together. My apartment is nice but it is just too expensive for what it is and it really isn't that close to work so I feel like I'm being robbed a little bit. Anyways I spent the better half of the morning/afternoon just perusing the East Village (one of the places were looking). I hear everyone talk about the East Village and how amazing it is but I have never spent a significant amount of time there so I honestly wouldn't know for myself. That is why I explored this weekend. I walked the almost 4 miles down there and spent some time in local bookshops, cafes, and did a comparison check on the K-Mart down there versus the one at Penn (I wish I was kidding, East Village K-Mart has better peanut butter selections, just saying).
That evening after I had looked at several tiny but decent apartments, Sarah and I went out for a casual night of drinking and hanging out. We went to one place that had the worst service literally ever. ever. ever. The worst part of that place was I had ordered a chicken quesadilla and was brought shrimp. Everyone that knows me knows she might as well have brought garbage because I really cannot stand seafood. Anyways I told her I was allergic to shrimp (just trying to play up on their mistake) and we barely got an apology, and all she did was give us 10% off of our bill! To top that off the service overall was terrible (I never got those napkins I asked for 4 different times). Anyways after that we went to a few different bars in my neighborhood to explore before I leave! It was fun and we ended the evening at one that was very Brooklyn-esque and had ski-ball so was an obvious winner in my book.
Oh also random side note but I just need to share, I had my biggest (personal) social media accomplishment to date on Saturday. I was walking through Madison Square Park where the first Shake Shack originated and the line was of course through the entire park (I love Shake Shack, but I'm not waiting an hour for it). This was my tweet:
Also I got my work professional pics in, two are shown below, I don't love them but alas, they are what they are, and I do think I look pretty profesh. Wouldn't you hire me?
